The first product in car cleaning you should be buying is a high quality car wash bucket. In fact, a few.
When you hear people talk about the safest way to clean a car, it will consist of using the 2 bucket method. The 2BM (Two bucket method) should actually have three car wash buckets, and no, I’m not trying to upsell here!
The 3 buckets that you need are:
Wash, rinse and wheels.
Wash bucket: This bucket is the car bucket that you put your shampoo in. Your wash mitt goes in and pics up all of those lovely lubricating suds to wipe panel by panel, top to bottom. Once you have done one panel you then use your…
Rinse bucket. This is the bucket that you will put the wash mitt into once you have wiped over your panel. dip into the clean water and with your other hand, agitate the mitt to loosen any dirt that you have picked up off of that panel. The dirt will come off into this bucket and you’re ready to then squeeze that water out and ready to go back into the wash bucket.
The third bucket is for your wheels. We tend to do the wheels first of all before we get involved with cleaning the car. We do this as the wheels tend to be the dirtiest part of the car due to them being the closest to the floor and also the amount of hot break dust that they pick up. (Please use a separate mitt and tools for wheel cleaning and NOT your bodywork wash mitt)
We highly recommend using grit guards in the bottom of all buckets that will save you pickup up the dirt from the bottom of the buckets and putting back onto the vehicle creating swirl marks.
Top quality car wash buckets are going to last you years so well worth getting a decent set and looking after them.
Our buckets are made of a heavy duty plastic that can hold 5 gallons of water. 75mm thickness meaning that it’s not going to crack if you put on an uneven floor which tends to happen to cheaper buckets.
